Funnari Doc

funnari web.jpeg

The Funnari was born in 1991, as it was the first wine created by Winemaker Mimmo Paone.

Even the handwritten label has its reasons and over the years has always maintained its originality from the past.

The Nero d'Avola "Funnari" is a red wine rooted in rich and well-drained soils composed of clay, silt, and sand.

The vineyards overlook the Mediterranean Sea, capturing all the marine and sunny nuances of this land.

The grapes are meticulously cared for and then brought to the cellar, where they undergo red vinification at strictly controlled temperatures.

Finally, it is matured and aged for 12 months in small oak barrels, which give it personality and character, but above all, longevity so that its life is long and intense.

With a deep garnet color, it exhibits a pronounced elegance typical of Nero d'Avola, reminiscent of ripe and intense plum fruit, with underlying notes of chocolate and tobacco.

The palate is warm and inviting, with a soft and balanced tannin structure, powerful yet clean.

It should be allowed to breathe for a long time before serving and poured with caution.

Tasting comment

It has an intense and brilliant red color, with a highly fruity nose characterized by notes of red fruit and slightly dried fruit.

A subtle spiciness accompanies the aroma of violet and sweet notes of chestnut honey.

The taste is warm, moderately soft, and savory, with a good tannin presence.
